Organisation of Friday nights

1st part starts at 19.30. Mixed class, emphasis on step practice and basic figures.
BREAK: cider, biscuits and highland dancing.
2nd part, intermediate level. You have to come to the first part to join the 2nd part. Emphasis on repertoire and tricky dances.
3rd part advanced dancers only. Difficult dances and preparation for demonstrations. Emphasis on precise technique and covering.

New comers are accepted all year long. It is however easier to start coming to classes in September to benefit from the teaching progression. The teachers decide jointly when a dancer is ready to follow the 2nd (intermediate) or 3rd (advanced) part of the evening.
For 2010-11, the Lyon advanced dancers are: Peter, Laure, Lilah, Nicole, Francoise, Christiane, Emma, Raphaelle, Véronique, Gisèle, Diana, Bénédicte, Melissa, Charlotte, Corinne, Bernadette, Pierre V., Monique, Pierre P., Isabelle and Ronan.
For evening classes and day schools, you will be ask to wear:
-Dancing shoes. No outside shoes will be allowed because of the wooden floor.
-A skirt or a dress (wide) for the ladies.
-kilt is not compulsary for men, but you are always welcome to wear it, especially during special evenings or day schools.

Prices

The price of an evening is 7€, we do not accept « spectators », you have to try to have a real idea. The price of your first session in our group is 5€. After 3 evenings maximum, you will have to choose between paying the annual suscribtion and membership (60€+ 7€) or to go on paying 7€ per evening. The annual subscription includes all Friday evenings and 3 saturdays.

The Saturday morning or afternoon session cost 9€ or 7€ for Lyon Branch members.

There are 4 evenings and one Saturday mornings for advanced dancers only. They can be paid on the night(7€ for a Friday, 9€ for a Saturday morning) or as a package : 23€ for 5 sessions (17€ for Scottish Chanterelle annual members; the dancers who have paid the annual suscribtion and the membership).

The weekend courses are not included in the membership fees nor in the annual subscription (see "Events" page).
