Scottish dancing weekend school in Lyon

 PROGRAMME AND ACTIVITIES: 

Friday 12 NOVEMBER  

19.30-22.30: dance, no beginners ; programme sent when you book

Saturday 13 NOVEMBER

9.45: welcome!

10.00-12.45: 2 SCD classes for 2 levels with 1/4 hour break.

15.30-18.00: 2 SCD classes for 2 levels with 1/4 hour break.

Since the venue is in the heart of Lyon, very close to Rue Mercière and all its tempting restaurants, you can choose for yourself where to have lunch and dinner.

15h30-18h00: 2 SCD classes for 2 levels with 1/4 hour break.

20h30-22h30 approx.: social dancing approx.: social dancing for intermediate and advanced dancers, last minute programme decided by the teachers, which will include the dances taught during the day.

Sunday 14 NOVEMBER

No SCD beginners on Sunday

9.45-11.45:a choice of 2 classes
 either SCD , mixed ability class or Highland dancing.

12.00-12.30/45  SCD, an opportunity for all the dancers to get together again.

1 o'clock: for those who wish , brunch at Quai des  Arts, Les Subsistances, 8, bis Quai St-Vincent 69001 LYON

Classes will be taught in English or French according to the needs of each group, the teachers being aware of the difficulties an international group might have in understanding; Antoine, James and Sam will take each group in turn; Ken and Ian will share their time equally between the 2 classes. They will also play for the social dancing evenings and Antoine, James and Sam will be our MCs. On Sunday, the Highland class may be divided into 2 successive groups, to accommodate the numbers and levels involved, including beginners.

RATES

Dance on Friday: 12€
- 50€ inclusive of all classes and social dancing on Saturday night ; 45€ for members

Saturday classes only (beginners): 28€ / members 24€

Children under 16: 50%
Cancellation: we provide refunds up to 2 weeks before the event. Then half the sums involved will be kept unless places are filled. No refund less than 3 days in advance.

       

ACCOMODATION:

-A list of hotels can be sent on request.

-Subject to availability, it is possible to stay in the home of some Scottish Chanterelle dancers (first booked, first served)

!!   Early booking is recommended, as numbers are limited by dancing space. Participants to the whole weekend will be given priority; non-beginners’ applications for classes only or social dancing only will be accepted after 31st October, subject to availability.

They will also play for the social dancing evening on Friday night and David and Mervyn will be our MCs. On Saturday night, they will be joined by Gordon Simpson and Creaking Gaits Band. On Sunday, the Highland class may be divided into 2 successive groups, to accommodate the numbers and levels involved, including beginners.
